General information on the annual meeting 2001

On October 22, 2001, the opening event in the Baden-Württemberg-STIPENDIUM program was held from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the Staatsgalerie Stuttgart. Prof. Christian von Holst, Director of the Staatsgalerie Stuttgart and Dr. Claus Eiselstein, Managing Director of the Landesstiftung Baden-Württemberg, welcomed the total of about 130 guests. Science Minister Prof. Peter Frankenberg praised the unique nature and the high prestige of the Baden-Württemberg-STIPENDIUM. He explained that the scholarship holders were making a significant contribution to the exchange between and the understanding of different cultures.

The scholarship holders contributed the majority of the event program with musical items.
The jazz band “Musici Humoris Causa” from the University of Stuttgart and the Brazilian scholarship holder Janaina Betelho Perotto from the Karlsruhe University of Music gave a wonderful performance of their musical talent.
The scholarship holders also took part in a guided tour through the Neue and Alte Staatsgalerie (New and Old State Gallery) and so received a brief insight into the varied cultural life of Baden-Württemberg.
