General information on the annual meeting 2002
In the Weißer Saal (White Hall) of the New Palace in Stuttgart, Minister President Erwin Teufel welcomed the scholarship holders of the first and second years of the Baden-Württemberg-STIPENDIUM program on July 4, 2002.
The program began at 10:30 a.m. after the arrival of the total of about 300 guests. In his address, the Minister President emphasised the significance of support programs, not only for the scholarship holders themselves, but also for the state of Baden-Württemberg. The objectives of the scholarship program are obvious: expanding your horizons, learning from each other and comparing experiences.
A remarkable speech came from a scholarship holder from New Zealand, Leonie Woutersen, who described her impressions and experiences at the teacher training college (Pädagogische Hochschule) in Freiburg.
“If you spend a semester abroad, you experience and learn so much more than just “studying”: for instance, I learned how people from different countries and cultures think, feel and act and how exciting it is to come into contact with people like that from different backgrounds.”
