Regional Chapters International
What about a little Baden-Württemberg in Toronto or Hong Kong? The lively exchange within the Baden-Württemberg-Scholarship makes it real! Therefore, it is only natural to get together, exchange thoughts and ideas and to look back on experiences having been imported from Baden-Württemberg.
Founding members of the Regional Chapter Moscow with Dr. Andreas Weber and Harald Völkl
In may 2009 two new international Regional Chapters were founded, one in Santiago de Chile and one in Moscow. On the occasion of the Baden-Württemberg-Days in Moscow the Regional Chapter Moscow was initiated. Ten scholarship-holders and alumni from Moscow and Baden-Württemberg followed the invitation by the Landesstiftung Baden-Württemberg. In the presence of Dr. Andreas Weber, Head of the Department of Education at the Landesstiftung Baden-Württemberg, they signed a foundation charter and exchanged their thoughts about the future activities of the Regional Chapter in Moscow. On may 10th twelve scholarship-holders and alumni from Chile and Baden-Württemberg got together in Santiago de Chile to form a new Regional Chapter. The Regional Chapter Hong Kong was founded in September 2008. It was the first time that a Regional Chapter was established during a visit of Baden-Württemberg’s Minister of Research, Prof. Dr. Peter Frankenberg, together with a number of accompanying rectors of several universities in Baden-Württemberg. 21 scholarship holders and alumni met up at the Ramada Hong Kong Hotel to discuss how to proceed.

Andrea Gauster is the contact person for the Regional Chapter Toronto. She heard of the Regional Chapter idea during her exchange abroad in Freiburg and has been busy organizing meetings for Baden-Württemberg scholarship holders and alumni in Eastern Canada since October 2007.

The Regional Chapter concept could also gain ground in Bangkok, Cracow, Monterrey, Singapore, Sydney and Warsaw and has been brought to life by scholarship holders and alumni.
