Sharing Cultures, Shaping Futures

Sharing Cultures, Shaping Futures.

Under this theme, we celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Baden-Württemberg-STIPENDIUM at the Wagenhallen in Stuttgart. Together with 450 current and former scholarship recipients, as well as supporters from the political arena and universities, we celebrated international exchange, friendship, and the experiences of the past 25 years.

Managing Director Theresia Bauer opens the celebration with a welcome speech.

Afterward, guests have time to catch up with old friends and make new ones while enjoying snacks and drinks.

Thank you to Carina Jantsch for hosting the event!

Henrike Schön, chairwoman of the Association of Recipients and Friends of the Baden-Württemberg-STIPENDIUM, presents awards to those who have shown exceptional dedication to the Baden-Württemberg-STIPENDIUM and helped make it a true community.

Henrike Schön also receives an honor from Executive Director Theresia Bauer for her many years of dedication.

Guests got creative and active in eight workshops. In the tap dance workshop, for example, participants experienced the unifying power of intercultural rhythms, while in the upcycling workshop, they worked together to develop innovative ideas for the sustainable use of plastics. The inspiring diversity of artistic expression was explored through alcohol inks. In the “Language Lab,” on the other hand, the focus was on languages and cultural exchange, providing a space for personal encounters across national borders.

What difference does a stay abroad make in a young person’s life? In the panel exchange, Godson Amamoo, Karla Guarneros, and Nick Ebner (from right to left) talk about their stays abroad with the Baden-Württemberg-STIPENDIUM. All three alumni were able to use their international experience to seize new career opportunities and broaden their horizons.

The ceremony begins with the premiere of the anniversary movie, bringing the theme “Sharing Cultures, Shaping Futures” to life: In the film, six alumni share how the Baden-Württemberg-STIPENDIUM broadened their perspective on the world and encouraged them to actively promote cultural exchange in their personal and professional lives.

Petra Olschowski, Member of the State Parliament and Minister of Science, Research, and the Arts, speaks in her keynote address about the importance of international exchange for the economy and innovation, as well as the valuable contribution of the BW-STIPENDIUM to the international networking of the state of Baden-Württemberg.

The Stuttgart Orchester der Kulturen provides the musical accompaniment for the evening and creates a wonderful atmosphere with a mix of international sounds, original compositions, and fresh interpretations of beloved classics from Baden-Württemberg.

The guests wrap up the evening with live music, delicious food and perfect weather. A wonderful anniversary celebration comes to an end.
